A Safe Learning Environment—Physically and Digitally. Building a community where students feel included and can express their thoughts and opinions is fundamental. Community norms are established together to ensure all students feel seen and heard. Students can walk around and reflect about class and identity to think about themselves, society, and history. Students' work and accomplishments are celebrated and displayed for the school community. Communicating with students and providing positive feedback online increases engagement. Students work in groups to analyze primary sources. Students contribute to their classroom spaces, creating a sense of ownership, representation, and comfort. Accessible seating meets the sensory needs of students. Students can express their concerns, thoughts, and opinions on feedback forms about lessons and our class to see change. Students are asked to answer an "Expo Expression" some classes. Writing on the board creates a sense of ownership.
