Student feedback, student data, and reflecting on practice are central to improving the classroom experience.

Students anonymously reported on a feedback survey:

Student Data:

  • 94.7% of 10th grade students reported "Mr. Torres - Lopez demonstrates that mistakes are a part of learning."

  • 80% of 7th grade students agreed “Mr. TL uses open-ended questions that enable me to think of multiple possible answers.”

  • More than 4 in 5 students agreed that "in discussing my work, Mr. Torres - Lopez uses a positive tone even if my work needs improvement."

  • 75% of high schoolers and 70% of middle schoolers agreed or strongly agreed with the statement, "I am able to connect what we learn in this class to what we learn in other subjects."

  • 91.1% of 7th graders agreed, "Mr. Torres - Lopez asks us to summarize what we have learned in a lesson."

  • 89.3% of World History II students agreed or strongly agreed Mr.TL has “students work together to help each other learn difficult content.”

  • 91.1% of high school students claimed, "I can show my learning in many ways (e.g., writing, graphs, pictures) in this class."

  • When asked if "Mr. Torres - Lopez encourages us to accept different points of view when they are expressed in class," over 90% of high schoolers and 70% of middle schoolers agreed.

  • 4 in 5 students enrolled in World Geography and Ancient Civilization agreed that "When asked, I can explain what I am learning and why."

“This activity was very fun and i would love to do it again sometime.”

“I loved [the lecture] so much that I looked into the future to summit this.I took away The restoration was a comprehensive reform that would westernize Japan. . Military strength became the means for national development and stability. Imperial Japan became the only non-Western world power and a major force in East Asia in about 25 years as a result of industrialization and economic development.”

“From the video that we watched I learned a lot about how the Dominicans treated the Haitians, and it help me prepare for our class discussion. My classmates brought up some valid points about how the Dominican Republic develop so differently than Haiti and we also spoke about what La Trinitaria was, their political beliefs and the role they played in the Dominican Independence movement. I feel like I was very prepared for the discussion and got to speak about all the points I prepared.”
